The Chair #03 is another beautiful furniture piece from Stockholm-based design studio Afteroom. Drawing inspiration from the structure of classic Windsor chair, Afteroom’s desire was to create a minimalist chair that feels both familiar and original. Made of square steel wire, the chair is stackable and ideal for the outdoor living. However, we wouldn’t mind storing this wire chair inside, in, let’s say, a dining room.
Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei launched studio Afteroom with a mission to create the beautiful designs you can grow old with. “We simply want to create things people won’t get rid of- something you’d like to keep for now and also leave for the next generation,” they explained in an interview with Kinfolk magazine. Afteroom’s philosophy is based on the simplicity and honesty, which reflects their minimalist furniture and the way of living.
Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei both share passion for Scandinavian design, simplicity, and minimalism. Their Afteroom chair is one of the most popular products of Nordic design retailer Menu. Below, they are captured for a beautiful “A day in the life” feature in Kinfolk Magazine Issue 17;
