aust & amelung: a bench

March 19, 2015

This brilliant and clever furniture piece simply named “a bench” is designed by German design studio aust & amelung. The minimalistic and elegant construction and modular system of cushions make this bench seat highly aesthetic and absolutely amusing. With its forward design and respect for the form and function this piece enters into that category of timeless objects that become the centerpieces of living area.

The cushions that range in color, shape and size perform as a puzzle by allowing the changes in color scheme and form creating the new look for the bench. The seat and the backrest of the bench are grooved, so that the cushions can be plugged into the construction with the help of a steel pin that is connected to the cushion.
