Chocolate Treats

December 4, 2014

chocolate cake featuredOne of our favorite little treats, especially when the cold days knock on the door, is chocolate. The sweet and intensive flavor of this good old friend is priceless. Since we tried lots of chocolate cakes, we are on the team of easy to make chocolate cakes that melt in the mouth. We picked for you four delicious chocolate lovers that will play a rhapsody in your home. They best go with some smooth jazz tunes, a nice blanket and the statement ”oh, man this is the life”.

Delicious Swedish chocolate cake Kladdkaka is gooey inside and lightly crispy on the outside and it’s usually served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. This version by Linda Lomelino on Call Me Cupcake is flourless, but literally flourless (not even almond meal). Then what is that you need to make this chocolate rhapsody? Loads of dark chocolate, butter, bit of black coffee, few eggs and sugar.

One more mouth melting cake that is absolutely delicious, vegan and gluten free (for non-vegan substitute xantham gum wih 1 egg, for non-GF substitute GF flour with AP flour). What else besides flour you need for this chocolate adventure? Raw cocoa powder, chocolate chips, coconut oil, bit of applesauce and sugar. Yes it’s served with coconut whipped cream. Made by Claire Thomas on The Kitchy Kitchen. TESTED. And it can receive our award for the perfect weekend cake!

Another flourless sensation is dark chocolate soufflé from Artful Desperado, served with earl grey cream. The tea as ingredient is reason enough to try this chocolate miracle in cup. You will need dark chocolate, butter, eggs, whipping cream and sugar. Soft, warm and chocolate usually means perfect.

The last one in this chocolate story is this unusual version of brownie muffin (can it be anything more perfect than brownie muffin anyway) from Minimalist Baker. Your flour ingredient here will be blended black beans. Fact that dessert is made with the help of blender is always a fine reason to try the same. You will need eggs/ flax eggs, black beans, cocoa powder, coconut oil and sugar. TESTED. (If you will use home-cooked beans, we suggest a bit of applesauce for more moist, and be careful with baking time, these can easily dry out.)
