West Street Studio is a photo-book that portrays work process of young American painter Landon Metz while preparing his solo exhibition Michael Jackson Penthouse at Retrospective Gallery. For the book, published by Libraryman, Landon was commissioned to capture the two-week long creation process of his minimal paintings in his Brooklyn studio. One of the best art books we’ve seen last year contains dozens of lovely photographs taken by artist himself. There’s also a four-page conversation between Metz and American art curator Diego Cortez, as well as a poem written by the author.
